Opening Hours

Irchelkindergarten is open Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM. With the exception of two weeks of holiday closure over Christmas and New Year, public holidays, as well as Sechseläuten, Knabenschiessen, and the Friday after Ascension Day, the kindergarten is open all year round. Should May 1st and/or August 1st fall on a Tuesday or Thursday respectively, the kindergarten will also be closed on the Monday or Friday respectively. This results in more annual opening days than the maximum 240 subsidized childcare days stipulated by the City of Zurich. Childcare days offered beyond the stipulated maximum will not be charged to parents.Exceptional closures, e.g. due to an epidemic by order of the Cantonal medical officer, remain reserved. Individual additional days on which Irchelkindergarten remains closed will be announced 2 months in advance.

We offer childcare models with varying time blocks:

Option 1:
7:30 AM to 12:00 PM (50%)
without lunch

Option 2:
7:30 AM to 2:00 PM (70%)
with lunch

Option 3:
7:30 AM to 6:30 PM (100%)
with lunch and afternoon snack
