At Irchelkindergarten, children are lovingly cared for, individually supported, and prepared for school from the official kindergarten age until they start school. The kindergarten is recognized by the Department of Education of the Canton of Zurich, and its pedagogical work is guided by the goals and guidelines of the curriculum for the kindergarten level of the Canton of Zurich.
Attendance at kindergarten classes on five mornings a week is compulsory for all kindergarten children. Children in the second kindergarten year must additionally attend kindergarten classes one afternoon per week. During this time, after-school care for children in their first kindergarten year is run separately. The specific afternoon on which kindergarten classes take place will be announced to parents in advance.
In the mornings, the kindergarten offers places for a maximum of 22 children. A maximum of 18 children can participate in the afternoon programme. A kindergarten teacher and a trained specialist care for the children, supported by an apprentice. A double presence of the kindergarten team is ensured, except during drop-off and pick-up times.
