Irchelkrippe is included in the city’s childcare subsidy system. The parental fees (= child care fees) for subsidized places are subject to the subsidy model of the Social Department of the City of Zurich and are reviewed annually and adjusted if necessary.
For ETH members who do not reside in the City of Zurich, the university can cover the subsidies. Parental fees are also subject to the subsidy model of the Social Department of the City of Zurich and are reviewed annually and adjusted if necessary.
For non-subsidized daycare places, CHF 130/day will be charged. Non-subsidized daycare places for children under 18 months cost CHF 150/day, as they occupy 1.5 places. The month in which the child turns 18 months old will still be charged at CHF 150/day.
The calculation of a flat rate of 20 days per month (4.0 weeks of 5 days each / 240 days per year) results in 48 paid weeks per year; meaning that parents do not pay for the Krippe’s holiday closure and the other closing days.
New from 1 January 2026 Sibling discount: From the second child cared for at the same time (Kindergarten or Krippe), parents receive a 10% discount on the care costs of each additional child.
The rates can be adjusted by decision of the board after prior notification to parents.
